That seems to be a low amount. Does it cover your costs for surgery, time lost from work, etc? Do you have any residual effects – loss of movement, numbness, persistent pain? Will you likely have some amount of impairment that will keep you from working the job you did when you were injured?
If you do, you may want to talk to a worker’s comp. attorney about your options. I’m not saying you should sue for hundreds of thousands of dollars, because in my opinion, people who do that are greedy. But you should be entitled to a just and fair amount of compensation.

Do not settle until after you have a functional capacity assessment to determine % of usage. You need to know how this will affect the rest of your life.
However, if the damage is minor and something you can easily live with then holding out for more money could interfere with future employment opportunities.
It aslo depends on your age. If you are young and damage is something you can overcome then it may be in your best interest to settle.
If you are older and have difficulty healing, this will only add to any future problems should you need to change employment. It is hard enough trying to find a job for anyone over 45 but to add physical handicaps makes it that much worse as does having lawsuits against an employer on your record.
Suing for more money is not always the best option so weigh all your options and the ‘what ‘ifs’ before making any decisions.
Don’t do it until you have ALL the facts about your injuries, the amount of impairment and if they will pay all your medical bills and future medical bills. Once you settle, they “forget” about it…experienced
